Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026 · Draft policy for beta launch.

These Terms govern your use of Selyct. By creating an account or using the marketplace you agree to them.

1. Marketplace operator status

Selyct operates a peer-to-peer resale marketplace. Selyct is the marketplace operator only. Selyct is not the seller, not the buyer, and not the merchant of record for items listed by members, unless a future product change is explicitly documented and legally configured as such.

2. Account creation

You must be 18+, able to enter binding contracts, and provide accurate information. You're responsible for your account, its credentials, and all activity under it.

3. Beta terms acceptance

While Selyct is in beta, you may need to accept additional Early Access / Beta Terms before applying to sell, making offers, messaging, or transacting.

4. Verification requirements

You must complete the verification steps described in our Trust & Verification Policy before performing certain actions (e.g. buying, selling, messaging, offers).

5. Marketplace rules

You agree to follow the Community Standards, Acceptable Use Policy and Seller Policy. Listings must accurately describe the item, condition, brand and any flaws.

6. User-generated listings

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Selyct a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and moderate that content as needed to operate the marketplace.

7. Transactions

Contracts of sale are formed between buyer and seller. Selyct facilitates the transaction, holds payment where supported, and provides dispute tooling — but is not a party to the sale.

8. Fees

Fees are disclosed before any transaction. During beta, selling fees may be waived. There are no hidden fees or surprise charges. Material pricing changes will be communicated in advance.

9. Buyer protection

Selyct's Buyer Protection Policy applies only to on-platform transactions. Off-platform payments and arrangements are not protected.

10. Disputes

Disputes are resolved through the Dispute Resolution Policy. Both parties may submit evidence; Selyct mediates and decides fairly.

11. Fraud, suspensions and bans

Selyct may restrict, suspend or ban accounts for fraud, abuse, repeated policy violations, risk signals, or legal obligations. Some actions may require enhanced verification or admin review. Decisions may be appealed via the dispute or support channels.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Selyct's liability is limited and Selyct is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for loss of profits or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited (e.g. fraud or death/personal injury caused by negligence).

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. We'll notify you of material changes by email and in-product.

This is a draft policy published during Selyct's beta. Final terms will be reviewed by legal counsel prior to full public launch.
